It's just around the corner!  Put on by the Northern Indiana Bluegrass Association, this festival has grown so big and is a kind of pickers paradise with jam sessions at every stop. This is also one of the cheapest Festivals that I know of. Google NIBGA and take a look at the entertainment and see what you think.

We are also playing there on Thursday evening which happens to be the day they don't charge admission at the gate! I think we're on at 7pm  or in that neighborhood!

Our first CD has all been tracked and is being mixed as we speak, can't wait. It is all covers but one Mark Brinkman song called This Old Hammer. We are already looking for original material for our next CD from different song writers.

Info on how to get a CD will be updated on the website. That's after the artwork, mix and mastering..We're very excited about this..

I put these strings on my cousins bass just to find out it also needs a bridge. If it were my bass I'd buy the bridge but since it's not I don't want to put my money out there. I paid about $110 or more for these with shipping and taxes. Would like $55 for them.

Thanks,
Danny

Kentucky Border will be playing in Findlay, Ohio on May 1st to benefit Honor Flight. For those who don't know Honor Flight pays for our Veterans to visit the memorials in Washington D.C. There will be an act to be named, from 7 to 8pm and then Kentucky Border will bring you some good traditional Bluegrass Music from 8 till 11 pm. The cost is $10 in advance and $12 at the door. This is a most worthy cause to show our Veterans that we care, so come on out the the Elks Club, 601 south main street in Findlay, Ohio and show them your appreciation for their service.

Also check our website for where Kentucky Border will be and come out to give us a listen for yourself.

Glad to see that you made it!  Welcome to the forum!

Yes, sadly, advertising of events is sketchy at best.  It's a shame to see a big group like the Cherryholmes not get a ton of fans out to the show!

Hi All

This is my first try at "Blogging" and I do want to put my 2 cents in on this topic. My hubby and I have also attended many "Sparse" shows and I blame it on lack of advertising/marketing. We JUST went to our 2nd Cherryholmes Concert and it was so great. But alas, not well attended either. Maybe 100 people there and a nice venue: The Mendel Center in St Joseph MI.

We TALK about the talent at our Bluegrass Festivals and Concerts but unless it is advertised on a major website or radion - I do not think people get the information. Local bands - unless you try to check websites all of the time - which is very difficult.

If all of the folks on this site just keep reminding people of the shows and festivals maybe it can get better?
